Just got the Gamma back. Apparently Brunel Security found it the other side of the field in front of my house (that part of Pield Heath belongs to the Uni), and brought it to the sub-police station behind Brunel. They phoned me at work and I arranged for Security to take it back to my place, where I met them, and they helped me put it in the back yard. It was getting dark so not much of a look at the damage. Smashed steering lock, cut wiring loom, broken mirrors and indicators, etc. Don't know if that was as far as they got (with flat tyres and brakes half-seized) or if they realised they weren't going to get anywhere with it and brought it back to dump it. I'd assumed it had gone in a van so I didn't look too far for it. So now I've got something reasonably heavy to chain Black Kat to... -- Ivan Reid, Electronic & Computer Engineering, ___ CMS Collaboration, Brunel University. Dr Ivan D. Reid wrote Fucking bastard innit? They are utter fucking cunts I think, at least round here they (mostly) have the decency to torch the bike so that you can get a decent claim Exactly same story as my Bindit. I never thought of that. I was thinking of applying attention to outing the remains of the Bindit, I hadn't realised its potential as a ground anchor.
Well, there hasn't been petrol in the tank since 1987, unless they managed to smash the tank-lock -- and it's not been insured since 1988! Besides, PolAir did a few turns over the Heath the next day, I'd expected them to spot anything not too well hidden. Maybe they were looking for mariajuana crop? -- Ivan Reid, Electronic & Computer Engineering, ___ CMS Collaboration, Brunel University. Dr Ivan D. Reid wrote Not this time of year, early September as I recall[1] for that one. [1] I lived on Jersey for a bit when I were younger and at the end of summer they used to print a report in the local rag about the wild puff maturing on the local dump. Needless to say that by the middle of the next morning the local plod had collected a vanload or three of hopeful hippies and duly deposited them at the ferry terminal with instructions to **** off and never come back unless they had become winos.
Dr Ivan D. Reid came up with the following;: So, good and bad. I think that if I've had summat stolen, I'd prefer they torch it and that I don't see it again. There again, if it's still useful, but differently, at least it's recycling it ..

Hmm, maybe the tank wasn't locked -- it's got petrol in it! Cap doesn't appear to be forced, but I didn't try it with a screwdriver or another key. Wonder if they were stumbled upon after dumping it, before they had a chance to torch it? -- Ivan Reid, Electronic & Computer Engineering, ___ CMS Collaboration, Brunel University. Better not do that -- petrol and 'leccy sparx don't go too well together! While you're here did you see this in UKRM? "TS50 Is he likely to put it back together and use it again? If not, how much do you want for it? [1] Joe is 16 this year (how did that happen?) and he may as well learn how to put them together [2] as well as how to ride them. [1] The old lady.nina email address still works.
