After I took the broken shock off the Guzzi I though I'd do a few other
little jobs. So I've got the Guzzi in lots of bits.

Engine and gearbox are split and on the bench waiting for me to change
the clutch plain plate - actually it's waiting for me to source another
clutch centering tool - with the forks being readied for a strip and new
    internals.

I also decided to paint it, seeing as I did the tank a few weeks ago when
it developed a leak I thought it might be an idea to get the rest of it
to match the new shiny look tank and it was over ten years ago since I
    last sprayed it.

So off with the mudguards, sidepanels, tail lamp assembly and headlamp
shell (which has nearly the whole loom passing through it), flat and
paint them with rust killing paint then 24 hours later a coat of high
    build primer.

Ah, they appear to react. Which is odd as I've sprayed cellouse over it
    before.

AND I've made a really shit job of flatting down the rust paint which now
seems to resist all known abrasives. It seemed such a good idea at the
    time.

Ho-hum, need to find a shot blasters to do this at short notice as it
needs to be up and running for Chimay and I'm going away for the weekend
so won't have any real free time until Friday 15th.

    Prace bets now.

Oh, there's no problems - the recent failures are down to the bikes age,
mileage and I'm not always kind to it - but deciding to paint it probably
wasn't such a great idea especially as I've now realised I have no time
    what with work and all.

I must admit that /is/ a bit of a problem.

I have ponced a compressor large enough to run a DA sander as mine's too
weedy. Let's get ready for full on abrasion action. Gripped.

    That'll please the neighbours.

I too have 'performed' for the neighbours. Quite often on a Sunday. The
dulcit tones of the "Sunday Morning Angle Grinder and Air Cutoff Wheel
Ensemble" play "Goingtogetthisfuckingbracketoffifitkillsme" concerto in D
    minor.
Mind ewe, my neighbours don't complain, much as I'm sure they'd like to. You
see then their cars/bikes/electrics/plumbing wouldn't get fixed.

Don't bother, just use it as it is. Nobody'll notice, or if they do,
they'll be dead impressed by how rufty-tufty it looks.

btw, I find I've got a spare exhaust collar and a couple of spokes left over
from the Dnepr. If you want them, I'll stick 'em in the post.

It was fine when Champ raced me on his Gixxer...

or should I say it seemed fine before Champ raced me on his Gixxer ;-)

I suppose a couple of bent spokes could come in handy for hanging painted
    guzzi parts on. :)
