Yeah well, it IS BrizVegas after all. It's halfway to being an
    American state already !

    JL
The Gold Coast could be transported to California and no one would
    notice

Curious... you often hear of "Old Sydney Town" and "Old Melbourne Town" but
never Brisbane Town. Maybe it was established as a city (when they grouped
a bunch of towns together) or maybe the hall wasn't built until it was
    already a city or something.....
    [google google]
Hmm.. it looks like Brisbane had a Town Hall built in 1864.
In 1925, the City of Brisbane Act was passed by the Queensland Government,
abolishing 20 local government authorities in the city and forming the
    largest local authority in Australia.
The new hall was being built already and opened around 1930.
It seems to have always been known as "City Hall" but, as that's an oddity
in Australia; is often referred to as "Town Hall".

    Well I'll be buggered.

I know a lot about electrocution, motor-vehicle crash-injury, poverty and
mental-illness too George. Doesn't mean I want any of it to happen to me!
