Feeling pretty chipper and not in too much pain yet, although the nerve block's not fully worn off yet, so it may get worse. So far he's not had to use the self-administered morphine, although he has no compunction about so doing if needed. Apparantly the surgery took twice as long as expected (~5 hours), mainly due to problems extracting the olkd pin, so he's expecting that the surgeon (who he's not seen yet) will possibly tell him off for jumping around too much and bending the screws. Still working on the 80% success probability, but won't really get any more clue for several weeks at least, as it's not possible to see whether the bone graft chips are actually forming new growth until that sort of time. Anyway, he send his regards and thanks for all the GWSs to the group, and he's hoping to be out, and presumably posting here) by Sunday, Surgeon-willing. -- _______ ..'_/_|_\_'. I sent him a text: "Good morning and how's my favourite rasberry ripple?" Followed with: "I'm making a list of the sports you'd qualify for in the 2012 Paralympics. Do you have an air pistol?"
Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Ace I popped in to see him this afternoon, and he's in remarkably good form. The nerve block's still active, and he's had him morphine pump confiscated because he's not using it. He says "hello" to everyone.
Mr Champion, Its been **** knows how many years since I've seen you. I have been following your misfortune from afar. My heart is with you on your recovery. Don't let the lamp post win. (Telegraph pole?) I checked the picture. It was certainly stick like and bad. I'm pleased you could get back to it. Its a good sign. If you have the morphine machine with the magic button don't feel shy it's good for you. And FUN! It could have been any one of us so don't stress that. I know for a FACT that you ride better than Jesus so don't sweat the riding ability thing. Love and kisses from the Mediterranean. Say Hi to all from Me and good luck on your recovery. -- davethedave P.S. Yes I am drunk(biraz normal ama....) but the best wishes are deeply heart felt. As Bear would say Arakis exists to train the faithful! The horse is awaiting your recovery.
