On the premise you lot know most things - hope you can help!

BT have have just informed me they are no longer providing Home Highway
as of early next year, which for calls is no problem as I am now using
    Skype.

However, I do need a fax to be on 24/7 (yes yes I know!) - with the
advent of WiFi phones that don't require a PC to be on, but connect
directly to the router, are there any similar boxes that do the same
that I can plug my fax into? Or should I just keep an telephone extra
    line.

  2. Are you upgrading to their proper broadband offer? If so, they provide
necccessary kit - basically, a splitter on the microfilter. On my BT
broadband, I have: an analogue fax device, an analogue telephone device and
a VOIP box that links to the wireless phone hub. Works fine.

    Thanks Ali

We're currently set up with a home line, on which we have BT business
broadband connected to through a netgear wireless router.

In addition we have home highway, which provides two additional
phone/isdn lines, to one of which the fax is connected, but with no
    broadband.

Basically I have Skype London and New York work telephone numbers which
work when the PC is on, or take messages when it's not [1] - what I'd
like to do is have a dedicated Skype fax number which is on 24/7, but
without having to have the PC on. I don't want to attach the fax to the
home line as I don't particularly want work stuff on my home line.

If I can crack this I expect it'll be substantially cheaper than lining
    BT's pockets.

    TIA!

    [1] which works amazingly well
