Cheers! The WRX is going soon & as ugly as it it is, it is easily the
best all round sporty type sallon I have owned. The Disco is superb at
everything apart from speed. The Bmw is bloody good & I love it, but
it's not much kop at low corners or knee downs. For 2k, it will be a
fucking blast & you know it.

    Live & let live.

If you really want to have a go on a track then why didn't you buy a
bike that's already set up for trackdays? You'd have got a decent one
for £2k and been able to sell it in 12 months time for the same price.
Crash the Blade and you'll lose £500 straight off.

A couple of reasons, mainly the fact I haven't seen many that are
anything other than wrecks, or too much money.

At least if i crash it, you'll know it was me. It's funny, I never
considered a Fireblade & for that money, it does represent pretty good
value for money. Hopefully, I wont crash it. This time, i had a good
long ride on one & it got me hooked, I'll never find any kind of sporty
bike that fits me in the leg, put the actual position on the bike is
much better than i would have thought. I didn't get backache either.

Your version of trackdays & mine are probably different too. I don't
have anywhere near the experience of most here, but I do try hard.
Also, If i don't like the track & don't wreck it, at least it will sell
(to the blind probably with those colours)

£2k would get you a GSXR600 with full race plastics, a race can, track
tyres and probably a few bits and pieces like braided hoses and crash
    bungs.

Bikes set up for trackdays are usually fairly crash resistant as in
they have stronger plastics and won't fall into hundreds of pieces
    after a 50mph lowside.
But did you buy it as a road bike or a track bike? Your initial post
    suggested the latter.
A trackday serves one purpose only and that's to cane your bike around
a race track with no risk of being nicked and lower chances of
crashing than similar behaviour on the road would produce.
