That's always worse going north, than south.

But agreed, awful stretch of road, to be traversed with throttle
    pinned.

Even the services aren't worth stopping at ...

I've seen plod on bridges on that stretch.
SInce the last bit of work to link the M6/M74, I don't think the A74
    exists any more.

I used to love going to Glasgow back in the '90s when it was A74 nearly
all the way. Loverly run it was.

The M6 to Gretna is just the prelude to the A75, which is a cracking
    road for early evening hooning.

Not so good on the late boat, spitting you off into the dark and wet
at some ungodly hour of the morning .. :)

How long did it take to meet everyone else in Larkhall Loz?

I was advised not to, by people from Larkhall and outside of it. Bee
wouldn't even let me use the cashpoint in town after dark, she said it
    was far too risky

I expect he met most of them in the chippy, where they were queueing
for their bottles of blue pop and deep-fried bubblegum.

I was always well catered for in Larkhall, except for those weird
square sausage things - wtf is that all about? Tasted great but just
    looked wrong.

Square Slice. Lovely stuff and made to fit into the squarish bread rolls.
    Top with black pudding, yum.

You are suggesting Bee has sense? I'm not sure history supports that
    concept

Well I don't know her, but I've been in close proximity to people of
    Larkhall.
