Thanks for that. Next trip to/from Glawster will probably be in 10 days
    or so.

    Keep 'em peeled.

Yeah, there was definitely a gatso logo on the back of the transit,
and it had one of those slide down back windows with a scamera sniper
    inside.

Maybe I should have just stopped, executed them, then torched the van.

The way you have to drive around when you have 9 points, I'm not
surprised that the insurance company considers you a low risk.

    "Have to"? "Ought to", maybe.

My longest, fastest, most ludicrous speeding session ever took place
when I was on 9 points. I figured it'd only take one tiny indiscretion
to put me on 12, so **** it.

Besides, if I'd been caught I'd have got a ban (and possibly some time
inside), not points, so it wouldn't have made much difference.

    Allegedly.

That's the stretch near Sutton Coldfield I've mentioned. It isn't Fair Play.

I had to go down that bit yeserday too. Cruise control: 60MPH. It's
    only 15 miles or so.

I do the same, by car. 60 on a bike isn't viable though.

Disabling them and leave them burning to death in the van would be more
    appropriate.
Setting an example and all that.

GSXR1000, K1100LT, XT660R about 420 quid. All fully comp. And all
fucking road-taxed too. 210 quid FFS. Plus the same again for the
    pick up.

Will add the WR to it once I've got it MOTd.

Mentioning which... any ideas on how to quieten the exhaust for the
MOT? It's a standard one but is a little loud.

    I can't find a standard replacement anywhere.

If anyone's got a 2002 WR 250 (and I guess the 450 is the same)
exhaust kicking around I'd be interested...

Aha. Mine was aged 16 too: 1100cc MKI Escort, no licence, no
insurance, no 'L' plates, no accompanying driver and asymmetrical brake
lights: the most impressive provisional licence (when I got it, six
    weeks later) you've ever seen.

I already had a provisional one for mopeds, but yeah, it looked pretty
full by the time I was legal on the 125. I misremember whether they
also did me for no tax and no L plates, but the main charge was
driving while disqualified[1], which I thought was pretty cool.

And there began my long and illustrious career of lawbreaking on the
    roads.

    [1] By age.

    Cool?!

If I knew of an unlicensed, 16 year-old scrote driving around in an
uninsured car I'd be onto plod straight away.

Fucking killjoy. Weren't you ever a teenager?

    Anyway, it wasn't a car, and I wasn't a scrote.

Sure, but I was born grumpy.
I think that riding an untaxed vehicle for which you had no licence
(and were therefore uninsured) at the age of 16 is pretty much textbook
    definition of a scrote!

I got my Council Tax bill a few weeks ago, and incredibly, the Parish
Council are putting up their Precept by 26%.
I went to the Office to query why it had gone up so much, and was told a
load of bollocks that made no sense.
I was so incensed, I've put my name down to be a Councillor.
Anyway, I went to a Council meeting last week, was fobbed off on why the
rate had gone up so much, I then stayed to hear the rest of the meeting.

They want to landscape a small plot of land where 2 roads meet. Big
enough to park say 5 or 6 cars on. Amongst the estimated costs, was one
    for 'statue - £19,000'.
One lady asked why we were spending 19k on a statue that would not be
seen much, in the middle of 2 roads, when things are really tight
    moneywise.
She was told that the money was available, so why not do something with
it! Luckily, the decision was put back for more consultation.
They seem to have little problem spending other peoples money. i know
when I'm on the Council I'll be trying to stop any spending that is not
    justified.

    alan.
