Yes you probably have it wrong. You were probably misled by other people
who were wrong. The website states that 30kg of force is required to
activate the 'ripcord'. That's an awful lot of effort before you actually
    do any harm.

80kg (rider) falling vertical 600mm (does the website say how long the
lanyard is?) on a static system could pull about 3.2Kn.

There are lots of variables to be included but saying that a fault is not
possible either by deployment when not required or by failure to deploy
when required based on a "30kg of force is required to activate the
'ripcord'." statement from the distributers website seems very....
    trusting.

  2. That's why I don't use them. I just insure my bikes. Easy. Most bike thieves
aren't going to ride away on anything modern anyway particularly Jap bikes with
    their Hiss type systems.

Yes, your finger is very strong. 4 people using only 1 or 2 fingers
each can lift a person sitting in a chair if they all lift in unison.
It's an old party trick. Though, I'm not sure why you're going on about
fingers and bricks and triggers or how that relates to a lanyard or
ripcord connected to jacket. Is room 302 for arguments or obfuscation?

Still unsure why the rider is in freefall??. Also you keep throwing out
measurements which include the mass of the rider, as if the lanyard is
attached to the rider's mass, when it is attached to the jacket they're
wearing, presumably on the front half of the jacket.

I see police shows on tv all the time where a cop uses the mass of his
body, some inertia, and a size 10 boot to break down a door. If the
jacket was connected to the door by a cord, and the cop was wearing the
jacket which is a comfortable fit, how fast must that cop be moving in
order for the same amount of force/damage to be inflicted on the door?
(Assume an 80kg cop, size 10 boots, and 300 denier cordura and a cord of
infinite strength, just for simplicity's sake)

hahahaha.. so you're walking towards your car, and you press the button
while it's in your pocket so nobody knows who's [sic] car it is.. then
you get into the car. Are you wearing a disguise, maybe a Groucho Marx
novelty mask... you know.. so noone knows whose car it is?

  13. You are such a wanker Nev
Okay, so you can pick on my abbreviations and maybe my grammar
but you had better watch out for my grampa
    besides,
Why would there be any need for a Groucho Marx disguise ?
Shirley you have heard of the ruse, whether it be in the almighty US of A,
    or here
well, as the story goes, a person is walking towards their car in a
supermarket carpark, they hold up their remote door opener, point it at
their car as if they are about to shoot it, then, as they do that, some mean
and nasty feral, runs out from behind a nearby car, grabs their keys and
takes off with their car ?
    No?
Maybe it is all bullshit and could only happen in the USA but, that what I
    was referring to
a crowded car park, I walk towards my car, my remote is in my pocket, I
press the button from about 15 metres away,
there are lots of other people in the car park and some maybe around my car,
but, I know where my car is and I can watch to see who, if anyone may be so
inclined to move towards my car.
If they do, they I just press the other button to lock it and keep walking,
then return for another go later.
    See
No need for a disguise is there?
Maybe for you, as I have heard that you really look like a very chubby
    Groucho Marx in real life

Why don't you just wait till you are right at the driver's door and then
unlock the car? By the way, under the "Road Safety (General)
Regulations 2009", Item 150, Code 2135 by unlocking the vehicle more
than 3 metres from the vehicle you're committing an offence. Hoon.

  15. Who is to know who pressed the button to open ?
They wouldn't recognize me if I was wearing a Groucho Marx face mask

  17. If you are worrying about that sort of stuff you have way too much time on your
hands or need to move somewhere less pikey.
