Christ I'm knackered after that run today. Back roads all around Leathley to Richmond, then onto Scotch Corner, then to Kirby Stephen to Hawes, then through Kettlewell back home. The road from Kirby Stephen is a right tight shitty road for the first few miles, but after that it turns into an absolute belter down into Hawes. Some serious twisty action if you're ever up these parts. One twat nearly fucked the whole day though. five of us fairly well spaced. First bloke overtook two cars doing 30mph, i saw my opportunity & pulled out to overtake. The front car slammed on his brakes & started to a fucking U turn in the road. I managed to get the anchors on & missed him. My mate on his 10r behind did a fucking stoppie. Needless tosay, the **** got a bit of abuse. This was an unrestricted b road ffs. -- Nige, BMW K1200S (for sale) Range Rover Vogue Suzuki GSX-R600 Racebike (for sale) Honda ST1100 Pan European

Actually, I don't. I can make comparisons between A roads, B roads with what we have, but I don't have a clue what unrestricted is.

NSL road, 60mph. I don't know why they get called unrestricted, but they do. -- Nige, BMW K1200S (for sale) Range Rover Vogue Suzuki GSX-R600 Racebike (for sale) Honda ST1100 Pan European
Hows the K Jeremy? Took mine for a blast today -- Nige, BMW K1200S Range Rover Vogue Suzuki GSX-R600 Racebike (for sale) Honda ST1100 Pan European
Not really settled down with it properly yet (have done circa 500 miles). Finding it takes a lot of concentration to ride it smoothly around town (unfortunately it is necessary!) and the gearchanges 1/2/3 are 90% of the time clonky affairs which doesn't make you feel like you're riding well. Really getting hacked off with self-cancelling indicators deciding it's time to switch off when you're on a roundabout going for the 3rd exit.... so you've got to keep an eye on if the green light is still flashing, which is NOT what you wanna be doing at the same time as trying to ride the thing smoothly at low speeds... When the tank is around 1/3 full, the display starts telling you about the remaining distance to empty - useful feature - but I don't need a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark illuminated from that point on until you fill up - that's basically 1/3 of the time you're riding the bike, it's got a stupid warning light. Filled it today with 18.3 litres - and then discovered that it's only a 19l capacity so was extremely close to having to push it home. On the plus side, out on the open road it's a blast! Said goodbye to the Sprint yesterday (sniff).
Get right out of first & second, into third in a few yards, much smoother. They dont have them do they? It does annoy that, i think it can be turned off. hehe -- Nige, BMW K1200S (for sale) Range Rover Vogue Suzuki GSX-R600 Racebike (for sale) Honda ST1100 Pan European
well mine certainly does, it is not documented in the owners manual at all. BMW dealer says nothing can be done to alter the behaviour. Even giving the bugtton an extra dab doesn't seem to reset its counter (unless I missed the button) so it seems pretty difficult to get the bloody thing indicating your intentions. Any idea how? It's an 05 model.
This is the people of the Yorkshire Dales getting their own back. I saw so many bikers round Hawes on Sunday overtaking en masse on blind bends, I assumed they were using The Force.
