    .... and obviously wiser.

    <considers contents of the garage>

OK, probably not wiser either. At least, a few more grey hairs.

When the number of vehicles in your possession equals your years -
that's when you need to worry. I'm proud to say that I only own six
vehicles, and am 49, so my vehicle/age index is a mere 8.16.

Heh, you know it's time to drink more and stay out very late partying
every night when your visually perceived age matches your actual age.

    Oops. Mistake. I've got seven (Primera, K1100LT, 750SS, CB550, CB400,
CD250, another CD250 in large lumps, and the SL125).

    No, that's eight.

So, er, 6.1. Heh! I'm younger than you!

    SV650: 72
    RGV250: 55
    306XSI: 123
    Leon Cupra: 180

    Grand total : 410

It would appear my cars are OK, but my bikes are truly gay.

I'm surprised your 330's so sluggish though. 231bhp from 3 litres? Was
    it designed by Americans?

I have age on my side.

    250bhp from 3 litres?

You might want to check under the bonnet and make sure it really does
    have the two extra cylinders.

I never do well at these:

    Tiger 955i - 100(?)
    ZX7r - 110(?)
    Jeep 4.0L - 170
    RX8 - 231

    611 total.
heh - it's not impressive, especially when you compare it to my 231bhp
car which has a displacement of 1.3l

  17. You think that's bad:

    Honda FR-V (1.8 VTEC) - 138
    Morris Minor 1000 (The mighty A-Series engine) - 48[1]
    186 total.

And to think I've had single vehicles with considerably more than that
    combined total. Depressing ain't it?

    Phil.

[1] Maybe originally. I doubt whether it makes half that now. It is
over 40 years old and most of it is still original - it isn't even
    converted for unleaded.

Pah. It's registered in my name, she just has the use of it.

And anyway, it's not cheating it's just a liberal interpretation of the
    rules.

I love any offsite event where there's competition since it allows me to
tax my brain with ways to win; my favourite was when we had to build a
'machine' capable of supporting an egg when it was thrown (on tarmac)
when all we had was paper, rubber bands and the like. Since the rules
said it mustn't smash I just hardboiled mine and then placed it in a
    cardboard tube and lobbed it.
