any drawbacks with a slipper clutch?

    the zx6r has a normal clutch

    the zx6rr has the slipper clutch

    are there known issues with these clutches?
    do they wear out? is it costly?

    When I got home today, the new issue of Cycle World was waiting. The Kevin
    Cameron column talks abour slipper clutches. Germaine reading for this
