    Before I bung it on ebay. Comes with a large amount of spares, a lot of
    them pretty rare. Mostly in one lump, currently awaiting the return of
    its repainted tank after muggins dropped it after it had been repainted
    the first time. Wiring needs to be reconnected, some fasteners tightend
    and that should be it.

    Was running pretty well before I took the bodywork off to get it
    painted. Has the usual occasionally slipping kick start but comes with a
    second lump that has a fully working one.

    Its the spannering by Timo I'd be more worried about!

    Given that WUN seems to have had an attack of common sense (hope you're
    recovering OK), this is still up for grabs.

    Spares include second engine block to rob the kickstart from, another
    set of recently respoked wheels, battery, various odds & sods that
    always go missing etc etc.

    With the mountain of spares I'd want to see around 900 quid for it.
    Last chance, it'll go on the bay tomorrow otherwise.

    I had a post all done yesterday evening asking how hard it would be to
    get into a car and up to Nottingham. Then I surveyed the wreckage of a
    days drinking around me and decided to pause until morning.

    <phew>

    Good luck on ebay.

    It's pretty easy to get in a car with the forks off and the rear wheel
    removed.

    Shut up!!!

    The funds for a car type project[1] seem to be going towards a
    conservatory, so I might get something left over and I fancy a pre-war
    British single, something like a Red Hunter, so none of your tempting
    with "easy" unfinished projects TYVM.

    [1] Caterham, kit car or Camper.

    There was an article on the Red Hunter in Classic Bike a couple of
    months ago, I think it's a pretty bike, and a simple "first Brit"[1]. My
    boss is an Ariel nut, as far as I can work out he's got about 20 of
    them, plus other Brit stuff.

    What's spares availability like? I doubt I'd be doing a full restoration
    but who knows what will crop up.

    [1] Although I restored a Tiger Cub when I was 17-18.

    Yes, but I don't expect I can afford it...

    I can just remember my Dad having a Square Four, he sold all his bikes
    except his Vincent which we went to Cadwell on quite a lot when the
    Velocette and Vincent OC's could afford to run there. Then the bugger
    sold it. I was hoping it was destined for my garage.

    My boss had a tank made for at least a couple of his but makes a lot of
    other parts himself.

    hahaha, I was tempted to take the Vin out a couple of times but never
    did, then out of the blue he offered a swap ride with me on my RD350
    YPVS. I was changing down for corners and he was thinking it took off at
    about 3k. Some education required on both our parts!

    Uproarious laughter!

    Afford it?

    It's about the right price, which is why I doubted if I could afford it.

    <thinks>
    I could probably save that in half a year if I gave up everything else.

    And maybe earn a bit to shorten the period. (On basic state pension innit)

    Trade a Honda 250 RS in slightly modified form, guv? Swish dual seat
    with unusual swingin' gaffer-tape finish and Suzuki front brake
    lever/reservoir?
    </thinks>
    <hides>

    Jampot model?

    Oh, in case anyone hasn't heard of this wrinkle: after cleaning the
    primary chaincase, slap it all together, warm it up with a hair-dryer
    and pour in a cupful of melted paraffin wax. Then you don't get that
    nice black pool (not Blackpool) underneath.

    My first real bike was a 1941 G3 Matchless in khaki drab - rigid rear
    and girders. I painted it black (Brushing Belco) and took the Mathbox
    twice round the clock.

    I miss it. Nostalgia is still what it was.

    I also miss the successions of Model 18s (Jampot) I had before lighting
    on a 1939 MSS which had been in a crate since the beginning of
    hostilities (sensible precaution - it lived half a mile from Hornchurch
    Aerodrome), and I bought it before it put on another mile.

    Try Draganfly (not Dragonfly) in Bungay (Suffolk)

    They've got a wibble, and specialise in SOBs

    How soon do you need the space?

    <peeps out>
    Not tempted then?
    'S OK. I'm used to jackrabbiting - had the G3, 2 of pre-war MSSen, D1
    Bantam, 1929 KTT, 1929 two-and-threequarters HP B29 Douggie, 990 SV
    Vee-twin AJS and probably others I can't unforget ATM.

    So, I'm prepared to save like the Cromer Lifeboat. Are you biting?

    I know exactly what you mean. I want a can of aerosol anti-gravity so I
    can utilise the ceilings.

    Essex, IIRC. It was in 1961, you know.
    A bit of extra time will give you the opportunity to plan it nicely.
