Anyone else make it to Winton for the Aus Superbikes?

Sensational day's racing at Winton yesterday, enhanced no end by the
intermittant showers that made it virtually impossible for teams to
choose the correct tyres for each race.

The end result was plenty of surprises, lots of balls-out racing,
plenty of tyre-smoking as wet tyres self-destructed in the dry and
slicks spun up in the water - and a good smattering of spectacular
stacks for the kiddies. The supersport races in particular were
amazing, lots of aggressive side-by-side corner passes complete with
elbow and shoulder jostling, the crowd were loving it.

Highlight would have to be the end of the last superbike race - Krusty
snapping at Bugden's heels for the last 10 laps, showing him plenty of
front wheel at every opportunity, but Bugden holding him off... Then
Krusty making a desperate stab at passing him on the final straight,
losing by 0.08 of a second. Both riders had gassed it so hard on the
straight they were unable to stop, and they both went off onto the
grass and toppled over exhausted. The crowd went bananas!

Fantastic day of no-bullshit action - even if we did have to ride back
to Melbourne down the Hume in some pretty filthy weather.

  3. I was there on Saturday & Sunday. Bloody good entertainment and I wish
I had half the skill level & balls of some of those guys.

the 600 Supersport races were the best for me.

    Kind regards
