Anyone had experience of RSS?

You may remember in August 2003, I was involved in an accident involving an
    uninsured driver.

How long do these things normally take, and am I flogging a dead horse?

Rider support services (who are dealing with this) keep sending me letters
every 6 weeks or so and they just keeps saying " we are liasing with NIB
(non insured bureau) and are trying to assess who is liable. We will keep
you informed of any further developements."

I have had a form through where i had to send back details of clothing and
helmet costs (which were damaged in the accident).

I have also had a letter from an independant medical examiner which I have
to go and see on may 6th for him to assess my injuries.

The bike was a write off, due to a buckled frame and i subsequently sold is
as spares (Which RSS were happy to let me do).

All i want to know is, how long do these things normally take?
and, what is the likelyhood of me getting any compensation?

    anyone had similar experience?

    Dave

  2. Yep.
Hang in there. It takes forever. But it will come to an end. With a
    cheque in your favour.

    RSS are the new RAC.
At least you get letters. My accident, about the same time, was with an
insured driver but I still had to push RSS to get their arse into gear.
Done that a while back and still waiting for claim to be settled.
Ages and by the way things sound, minimal.
    Unfortunately yes :-/

    Is that good?

Try liasing with the MIB (Motor Insurance Bureau), that's quicker. :)
Let's put it this way. IIRC, all insurance companies pay into the MIB.
The last thing that they want to do, is pay out. Think of one insurance
company not wanting to pay out and multiply that by tenfold.

    It's going to be slow.
AONTL. RSS were great for me.

But in my case the MIB have nothing to do with it. Liability has
already been admitted which places the focus firmly with RSS being
    slow.

What I meant to say, but in reverse. The MIB aren't renowned for being
quick. With my accident, it was clear that the TP was to blame, but
nothing happened for months, until I got RSS involved. Sorted one month
    after that.
