Anyone in IT who can help with ntl problem?

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by WavyDavy\(Mobile\), Jan 10, 2006.

  1. No, I don't just mean the problem with ntl per se, but the fact that
*every_single* ntl e-mail addressed person I know in the UK can't receive
    e-mail from my wanadoo.fr account?

I don't have problems with any other accounts at all, and I can receive from
them, but every single ntlworld address I send to gets bounced back (after a
7-10 day delay) with a "the message was rejected"-style add-on.

My parents (one of the ntl lot) tried phoning up ntl but were told it must
be a problem with my connection and the 'helpdesk' just bamboozled my mum
with a load of utter shite that she thought wqas really technical talk (she
relayed it to me after the fact and it sounded bollocks to me anyhow...)

But the rejection e-mail is from ntl...

Any ideas on how to resolve this?[1]

    TIA

    Dave

[1] thought of ringing myself ut the only numbers I can find are Uk specific
and/or need an ntl ref number to actually get through to a real Indian in a
    call centre.....

If you have been reported for spamming, you details you have been
entered it to the standard spam traps database(supplied by Yahoo &
NTL), so when your e-mail some people, they will not receive it.

I think you will have to talk to your ISP or change your account.

NTL and may other ISP's have blacklisted wanadoo.
The only way to fix at present is to cancel wanadoo and find a proper ISP.

Doesn't look good according to this post:
    http://groups.google.co.uk/group/24hoursupport.helpdesk/browse_frm/threa
    d/3fb25d6315d62541/1fc8285bc6d3affd?lnk=st&q=ntl+block+wanadoo&rnum=4&hl
    =en#1fc8285bc6d3affd

Sounds like you'll have to either get NTL to not use SORBS[1] or get
Wanadoo.fr off the list to sure it. There may be another way round it,
but I'll leave that to someone else.

[1] www.sorbs.net - a spam list, not our musical irregular.

Wanadoo's mail servers would appear to be slightly borked though ISTBC.
Looks like you;re not alone, though.

I've been trying to email a mate on ntl since before Christmas, from
wanadoo/freeserve (uk) and it's been bounced every time (but with
different messages) after a 5-7 day delay. I've no problems mailing
people with other accounts, and the person concerned can email me.

I'm sure wanadoo has been blacklisted before.

Almost identical to my 'problem' apart from I always get the same message.
As do other wanadoo.fr users over here who try to e-mail ntl in the UK....

You want one of the gmail invites I now have after raden invited me - seems
to work (as long as you remember to selct to sent from mail of OE, that
    is.... Ahem...)
