Looking for a new pair of boots and this mob appear to be very cheap (Sidi
Flex Force £165) However but they are based in Andorra and the website is
pretty scarce with information on the company itself, so I'm a bit dubious
    about the whole thing !!

Anyone had any experience of them

Pay by credit card, and AFAIK the credit card company will cover any losses.

Well if they're in Andorra then they're tax-free, so you may be hit by
import duty and VAT if you get stuff sent mail-order to the UK...

If they are not in the EU then you will get stiffed for excise duty, and
you will have to pay the Parcel force or whoever delivers it a tenner for
paying the duty in the first place.(1)

Buying from europe is not always a good deal

    (1) I always thought Switzerland was in EU until the I had to pay excise
on some goods, so much for my 'bargain'

Cos they both start with the letters 'Sw' and they're chock full of
    funny sounding foreigners?

was Sweden invaded or pro-Germany or something? Can't be arsed to look
    it up.

That would be the one. However in Sweden they only speak one
language, I was confused by Norway as well until I flew into Oslo the
    first time.

They invaded Norway in 1814. :) Close enough, I reckon.

    Norway became independent in 1905.

    1939
    October
Sweden, Denmark, and Norway issue a joint declaration that a Russian
attack on Finland would be considered an attack on the whole north.

    November
    Soviet forces attack Finland.

    December
    Sweden declares itself a non-belligerent.

    Nice.

    1940
    February
Sweden rejects a Finnish appeal for intervention in their war with the
    Soviet Union.

    May 20
A German Dornier Do 26 plane violates Swedish air space, and opens
fire on a railway station. Sven Sjöberg is killed. (This is Sweden's
only army soldier killed by enemy fire during the war.)

    1941
    December
Following the Japanese attack on the United States at Pearl Harbor,
the American government confiscates the steamship Kungsholm of the
Swedish America Line in New York harbor. The ship is renamed USS John
Ericsson, and used as a troop ship.

    1943
    April 16
In Swedish territorial waters, near Stora Pölsan, where Skagerrak and
Kattegat meet, German armed merchant ship Altkirch fires on Swedish
submarines Ulven and Draken. The Ulven sinks.

Sweden stops the transit traffic between Germany and Norway. The
supply of iron ore to Germany is reduced, in exchange for more oil
    from the United States.

Ingvar Kamprad founds IKEA at his family farm Elmtaryd, near the
    village of Agunnaryd in Småland.

    1944
    June 13
(about 1605 hours) A German A-4 rocket test-fired from Peenemünde goes
astray, exploding over a cornfield near Kalmar, Sweden, creating a
13-foot wide crater. (The Swedish government later transfers two tons
of debris to England, reportedly in exchange for two squadrons of new
    tanks.)

    1952
    June 13
A DC-3 plane takes off from Bromma airport in Sweden, to gather
Russian intelligence over the Baltic Sea for the British. At about 108
miles southeast of Stockholm, a Soviet Mig 15 plane shoots it down
over international waters. (The plane and eight Swedes on board are
never found, and the Soviet Union denies involvement until 1991. The
plane is located in June 2003.)

I've heard that as an explanation for the REME regimental colours:

"Blue for the seas we've never crossed, red for the blood we've never
split, yellow for the reason why".

and that was from a REME bloke...
