    an easy way to get those little bastard fasteners off the rear cowling

    If they're the same as the ones that were holding my rear cowling &
    front mudguard on until 5 minutes ago (i.e. seized rubber wellnuts), I
    recommend a big pair of pliers & a good tug[1] - works a treat.
