ACU Gold - must be worth eighteen quid.
I wonder what small/medium/large is in real money.

Fair enough - for MCN standards of fair.
    Why do you say that?
Why did you feel well gutted?
    Why not?

My difficulty is in seeing how the Chinese forging ACU stickers
    changes that.

You might believe that the sticker on a cheap helmet means that it
carries ACU approval, whereas if the sticker is forged it means that
it doesn't. But that's a very different matter from impugning, as you
seem to be, the ACU's reputation and procedures for testing.

    Or have I misunderstood you?

I think you have. As I recall it, MCN tried to find out from the ACU
what their testing procedure and facilities were for awarding Gold
stickers. Turns out there weren't any, and the ACU just flog the
    stickers to the helmet manufacturers.

Yeah, but it it self regulating like CE marking, or does it actually have to
pass a self regulating test? Surely they must to pass the test for such a
device? I mean, if they sell stickers without random testing at least, they
could be involved in some serious shit legally?

YTC. That's a £73.40 helmet that just happens to be in a sale.
And as such, is ten times what *you* need to spend to protect your head.

In your case I really don't think a helmet's going to make much
    difference.

    Really.
