    A 940 to be precise - 2 litre petrol turbo - turns in a reliable 28 to
the gallon - a smidge more on a run.

It's Tax'd and MOT'd until June. Looking to out it for 400 quid in the
paper - but a deal of massive proportions for UKRM folk who need a
    motah.

    It's got a tow-bar (he said tantilisingly).

That dear old chap, Simes tugged on his pipefull of old shag and said:
Bollox - I suppose some contact details might be useful - It's near
Hinckley in Leicestershire, and Simes at wafer dot org dot uk will get
    to me.

BTCC Spec Volvo... IIRC it was the 940's they ran - although I doubt
they bear a lot of resemblance to the ones they sold to Joe Public.

They ran 850 estates and later saloons in the mid 90s, but also ran
2-door 240 Turbos in the ETCC in the mid 80s - winning the championship
in 1985. They were on for another win in 1986, but it was found they'd
bent the homologation rules a tad.

I'm planning on taking a Barkas B1000 around the Nurburgring in August, all
    going well.

If you don't know what a Barkas is, google for it.

Yes, but you're almost more certifiable than me.

I certainly hope so, it'd be something to put on my CV "Madder than Timo"

Plan is Czech > Nurburgring > Amsterdam > Liverpool (including ferry,
natch). If the thing makes it out of Czech I'll be impressed. The rest of
the trip will just be a bonus.

If anyone on 'ere is insane enough to consider buying a 3 cylinder, 2
stroke, East German van that's been thrashed around the 'Ring [1] I'll quite
possibly be selling one sometime in August...

    [1] Ooo-er!
