Anyone want a Blackbird?

    Rarely an issue on my commute. A combination of bus lanes and big open
    stretches away from traffic lights - it's a dream of a commute
    considering it's all zones 1 & 2. There are a couple of places where
    things snarl up badly but even then I generally make better progress
    than even the smallest scooter.

    I'm leaning toward the king theory here.

    sure.

    When I used to commute 20 miles each way from Ponders End through
    Leyton to Blackheath, quite often I managed to do it without putting
    him foot down, despite the >20 sets of traffic lights on the way.

    Forward planning, as you say, is the key. But try doing that along
    Euston Road at 16:00. (maybe it's better now that bikes can use the
    bus lanes, mind).

    Also, I reckon you'd have "enjoyed" the A10 more on a 'tard than on
    your gixer.
