anyone want to help me out?

    ok im thinking of buying a bike . A guy at work wants to sell me his 1987
    suzuki gsxr 1100. He says it runs good and only needs tires.

    He responded to my price range of 1500$-2000$

    how much should I be paying for a bike like this?

    what should i be looking for to see if its good or not?

    is there anything I should know..defect wise...about that perticullar
    year+make+model?
