With the forthcoming ANZAC celebrations later this month, any of you guys
planning on attending any of the parades or functions? If so, which
    parade(s)?

What is it about the insanity that war is, that you want to celebrate,
    mate?

  4. You should know Gerry, that ANZAC Day is not a celebration of any war as a
    glorification of war as such,
but a commemoration and grievance for the fallen and a celebration for the
    ones who came back alive

    Delete "Rememberence"

    Insert "Remembrance"

    Corrected.

    No shit!

Listen, you sanctimonous bastard, I still have you pegged as Vietnam
veteran imposter and nothing you say will ever change that until you
provide some proof. Too much of what little you have said about your
time there does not stack up. I'd be happy to accept that you did
Malaya, but I'd need to see proof before I believed you were ever in
    Vietnam.

I'm happy to fly to Melbourne and meet you at wherever you will be
parading your medals with your chest puffed out in faux patriotic
swagger. Bring your Service Certiificate, I'll bring mine, and we'll
have a beer or two, eh?

    What do you say, George?

    Depends....

    http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/commemoration

    com·mem·o·ra·tion: noun
    1. the act of commemorating.
    2. a service, celebration, etc., in memory of some person or event.
    3. a memorial.

See? It could still mean "celebration". But I reckon I can let
that one go through to the keeper. ;-)

You're in Melbum, aren't you Moike? If so, and if George takes up my
offer of a beer on Anzac Day in Melbum, care to join us? ;-)

War, any war is insane, I agree, mate. I don't want to celebrate war. I
would, however, like to meet up with some of the vets, if they were
attending ANZAC parades within easy traveling distance, have a few tinnies
with them, celebrate the fact that they made it out, and drink to those who
    didn't. That's all.

  13. No need to bring your Service Certificate, Gerry, it's online for the World
    to see....

    http://www.vietnamroll.gov.au/Certificate.aspx?VeteranId=1280321

Only 146 days in country, hardly long enough to get your knees brown. :)

But by all means wear your medals with pride as you step off the aircraft in
Melbourne, Gerry, so that I can recognize you. But of course, I just
remembered, you don't have any medals, now, do you? lol

    Well that's alright then. :)

Are you going to tell people which city you're in so thay can tell you
where to meet them, or are you too shy for that?

So you going to give us a link to YOUR Certificate?

Failing that, will you take me up on the original offer?

Or will you bullshit you way out of this issue yet again?

A weak and unsubstantiated statement wasting electrons. Is that a

WTF do you mean by, "Well that's alright then"? Who the hell do you think
you are, a net cop? Or does everyone who posts in here have to have your
approval on what they can say? You sanctimonious prat.

I think George was correct when he called you an insignificant little twerp.
    Well done, George. :)
Ha,ha, I wouldn't exactly call my town a city. I could travel north to
Rockhamton, or south to Brizzie, both reasonable distances from my present
    abode.

So it has to be approved by you, does it. Hmm, George was right, you are an
insignificant twerp, acting like a net cop. :)
