Ill be honest Champ, I love the helmet itself but the visor mech is a
PITA. Its hard to get the visor on and off, and the pods are a real weak
    spot.

Its a _| tab at the top of the pod that hooks into a small resess, with
another hook that goes into a sprung clip at the bottom. Its a bastard
to get them to line up, but very easy for them to come out.

What hapened was I lifted the visor at Ramsey and the top tab snapped in
half, and thats enough to wreck the entire attachment, so the visor just
    flaps loose.

maybe the new ones are better, or maybe Im just cack handed, but I
wouldnt want to do a pit change for someone with one.

Umm, no, not this time. I thought what with the smiley an' all, we were
    on some jocular sub-thread.

    Ahh, that old chestnut.
I suppose £300-500 every 5 years isn't too bad for something you love.

It is a serious item of expenditure, especially if you buy off the
shelf without checking, and then find later that the date on your
brand new helmet makes it two years old already.

The last time I bought a new crash helmet, I had it ordered in with a
special request to the importer that the date should be as late as
poss, and it was 'only' about 2 months old when I got it. Of course,
I then went and comprehensively wrote it off in fairly short order...
