Having spent all afternoon dicking about on or near bikes, I'm spending
the evening in a cooking frenzy - recipes even Lozzo could handle.

(Shepherds pie, cheesy jacket potatoes, and chicken liver and oloroso
sherry paté - if he couldn't cook the latter two, I'd eat my hat.)

Presumably the route we took to get back to the Postcombe (after
we split), which was OK at best.

I'd be inclined to suggest an ExtendaFOT next time, but taking in the
A4130 from Henley to Maidenhead (or the original Marlow section) and
on to my local hostelry for £3.95 rump steaks of surprisingly good
    quality and unlimited chips.

One of the barmaids is alright.

There is an alternative, if you go from Postcombe to Stadhampton, then take
a left where the road bears to the right, the route is quite good IMHO.

Whilst there's nothing wrong in wanting to improve your confidence and
skills on the bike, you apparently didn't fall off today, and you and your
bike are still in one piece - so what if you're not as fast as others... as
they always say: 'ride your own ride', and live to ride another day.

Sorry mate, you don't qualify. We didn't actually do the extended fot
    route.

Oh I quite agree, but riding out with others is not the norm for me, and I
always welcome any comments from others in the group, whether good or bad.

Certainly being in a group tends to make me up my pace, as I usually just
bimble when I'm on my own.

  11. Fair enough, although of course, no-one else was there, but since when
would that stop this lot jumping in feet first?
Whenever I've ridden with Dan, I've always come away with an overall
impression of consistency, which is something I'm more interested in
    achieving that outright speed/lunacy.

Any **** can ride fast, but, in my case, unless I'm on really good form,
I do so with a certain amount of unsatisfying unpredictability.

Admit it... you've actually joined the Foreign Legion, and await your next
    post to hotter climes. ;-)

Speaking of which... heard anything from a certain ex boss lately, as in, is
it all that they'd hoped for?

Aye, the most sugar-laden waffles known to humanity (though the
ones from the City Pride on Marsh Wall come a close second)

LOL. I was impressed with the overtakes - as I said at Foxes, I kept lining
you up as I wanted to go _slighty_ faster than you and suddenly you'd be
overtaking rather than just sitting behind the car waiting.

That said, personally I have decided - especially with the DL - that, on
the whole, this riding around super fast is for people other than me. You
may have noticed I was quite happy to just go along enjoying the scenary for
the most part - the Tingewick bypass in particular I thoroughly enjoyed
doing at 69.9mph followed by stuffing a couple of cars up the outside
through the roundabout at the end :)

Might work on seeing if I can get it to wheelie a bit better though.

Not doing much for the rear tyre it has to be said.

Turn right at the end of B4012 instead of left - go past Hugendam Triumph,
turn left onto the A329 towards Stadhampton - at the BP garage, take a left
staying on the A329 until it joins with the A4074 - turn right and you do
the same last bit we did today on the wide road with the hatching.

It's a lot quieter, more bendy and faster than the route we did today -
there is also a comedy 90+ degree bend that has never yet failed to catch me
    out :)
