Aren't neighbours nice?

  1. Well, nice ones at any rate.

Just had all the flat roofs (5 of 'em in all, ranging from tiny to huge)
insulated and waterproofed, including the garage. The contractors took one
look at the bikes and begged me not to leave them in the garage while they
were doing the job, as they were paranoid about damaging them when ripping
off the existing roof boards. I don't know the next door neighbour very
well, (a pleasant but quiet and private sort of chap), but I asked him and
he readily agreed to house the bikes until the work was done - even tidied
up his garage to make plenty of room.

What a nice man. Hope he likes the decent plonk I forced on him.

When I had a garage roof repaired I asked the builder if I should move the
bikes. "No problem, leave them were they are", said the builder.

I got home and spent the evening picking bits of mortar and cement off the
bikes - the bugger meant that they wouldn't be in the way!
