Hi guys, getting back into biking and just bought myself a cbr600rr. I have
been shopping around for insurance and have a cover note with QBE. Their
quote came to $900 for full, and $800 for named driver policy. I have just
heard of this Arista insurance group, and have a very good quote from them
(around 1/3 cheaper :). Have any of you got experience with these guys? I
like the price, but since i havent heard of them, am cautious... There
policy sounds okkay.. but any body ever tried to claim from these guys?
    thanks in advance

there has been some good feedback from them

like all insurers make sure you tell them everything, read the policy
    and keep records

One of the guys at work has his bike insured with them. He almost wrote it
off a couple of weeks ago ($7500 damage), and they've been really good. No
delay tactics - I think they're even having a crack at the council on his
behalf to try and recover some dollars for gear. As with all insurance,
make sure you read the fine print.

Cover note? I thought all those Deutsche lads coming over to .au, taking out
a 30-day cover note on a hire bike - and then letting the policy lapse after
trashing the bike and before flying out back to .de - ruined it for the rest
    of us?
I've never been able to get a cover note for a bike, always had to buy a
    policy then and there ...
Oh, well done on getting back on a bike.

But the cover note is only a promise from the insurance company that they will
cover you while they wait for you to pay the premium. You can't claim until
you have paid the premium. Are you saying they don't pay the premium? If so
then what is the benefit of taking out a cover note? Who hires out bikes
without including insurance as part of the hire costs?

if you only expect to use the bike for a short time, you take a cover
    note.

Then if you have to claim you pay. Or not, you just skip the country
having given the other party your "insurance details".

It's illogical... if you have no intention to pay, why would you bother
getting a cover note? if you have an accident just laugh at the other person
    and walk off.

  8. 'Cause the other person might be bigger and faster than you.

If you have "insurance details" they will probably be busily chasing it up
with your "insurance company" while you skip the country.

But noone expects the other driver to have their "insurance details" on them
at the time of an accident. Most people don't even know who they're insured
with until that time of the year when the insurance company send them their
renewal notice. You say "Sorry about that, Chief. Here's my number. I'll
ring you tomorrow with my insurance details", and you walk away.

I just got it 860 for named driver, for 02 cbr600f4i

i wonder why yours is a bit cheeper?

they seem to know their stuff, the contract doesnt cover things like acts of
war and terrorism, also hit by a nuclear weapon, but hydrogen bomb is ok,
unless its an act of war..

    they seem alright though..
