Armco barriers

Discussion in 'Australian Motorcycles' started by Ron and Bev Dent, Mar 14, 2008.

  1. For some reason my local council has replaced 1 of 4 ends on the armco
barrier on a creek crossing near my place. They took off the rounded one
which appears to be designed to possibly deflect a vehicle and replaced it
with a very large and thick rectangular plate , more like a C channel with
the smaller edges facing out in a vertical position. It would be bad enough
hitting it in a car but youed be well stuffed if you were on a bike.It cant
be a saftey issue as no one has hit it in 35 years. Will be writing to
council for reason.Has any one else noticed these going up.

These were discussed previously. Google back for a previous thread.
Apparently the turned over edge catches cars better or something.
