Lynches Rd, Dorothy Ave, and Murray Ave are pretty nice spots. The
reason they are cheaper is that they are a fair way away from town. You
don't want to live to close to the creek that runs around there though.
A lot of the "creeks" in Armidale already can't really cope with the
storm-water, and I can't see it getting any better in the near future.

I've heard the same thing about North Hill, but when I was buying it was
well out of my price range anyway.

A heated vest? In Armidale? Puhleeeease!

I'd strongly recomend heated grips though, get a set of the VSM ones
from Vince Strang in Inverell (only 130km away once you move up here).
$60 and you'll wonder how you survived without them.

There are plenty of "bad elements" in the community, but you get that
pretty much wherever you live. I've only been called a "white ****"
once (for having the audacity to walk too close to them), and never
been mugged or bashed (though I know a few who have been) so I count
myself lucky. Steer clear of any of the parks after dark, especially
the Wicklow fields and Stevens bridge area and you should be ok. There
are cameras in the mall but naturally it doesn't stop people getting
bashed (it doesn't help that half the cameras are turned off half the
time). Don't park your car in the Kmart car park near the cinema after
dark either.

Heated seat? Seriously? Now you're talking! I thought that only came
on RZ500's, but the trouble with them is you can't turn the heating off
in summer.

 

im now told the prices they list on the realestate are 40,000 more than they
are actually are, to get suckers like me trying to buy in from afar..

so better bargaining for me

i just dont wana live near any of the undesirables, im even tempted to buy
some onewere slightly out of town.

I went to a nice house in perrot street, until i saw undesirables living
next door, explains why the house is cheep and been on the market for a
while,

i think thats what really needs to rule out places, lots of them look nice,
but ya gota know what ya neighbours are like..

Admit it, you just want to work in the fancy new station they're
building ;-)

Hopefully they can boost the cop numbers so next time there's a riot in
the mall they don't all mysteriously get called to urgent jobs out of
town...

 

They just finished a brand spanking new station here 2 weeks ago it
opened and now im leaving it

 

Simple! Just rent until you have all your toys ready for a garage then
think about buying the garage.

our crime figures have lowered here too according to the paper, but i seem
to be more buissier than ever..

i wonder if its anything to do with changing the stats, no dont put that
incident on as a break and enter, its an occurrance only, that way it wont
be listed as a break and enter..

 

from what ive been told, its not the ones who live their, its the ones who
travel from inland out to the coast who stay their overnight or until next
dole day that cause the problems...
