Arnold 2008???

Discussion in 'Bay Area Bikers' started by Larry xlax Lovisone, Nov 15, 2004.

  1. Aren't we a nation of emigrants??? isn't America the land of opportunity???
shall we amend our constitution so they may run for president???

You know once the mind stretched by a new idea it never returns to its
    original dimensions...

  2. What's this "Arnold 2008"? A new sportbike coming out in four years? A
    2 liter cruiser?

Don't tell me you x-posted to three newsgroups again and it has
nothing to do with motorcycles. If so I will get you a pet baboon for
x-mas so it can fling it's feces at you on command.

  5. I got that philosophy back in 74 after reading Dee Browns "I Bury My Heart
at Wounded Knee"... Is till remember "I shall fight no more for ever" very
    moving...
Peter... all I really know is that I suck at politics...

No... that's not a Timothy Leary quote but these are:

"In the information age, you don't teach philosophy as the did after
feudalism. You perform it. If Aristotle were alive today, he'd have a talk
    show."

"If you take the game of life seriously, if you take your nervous system
seriously, if you take your sense organs seriously, if you take the energy
process seriously, you must turn on, tune in, and drop out"

As you can see history has forgotten every line except the last morsel at
    the end...

  8. Seriously Peter... I would be for amending the constitution no matter what
party I've joined... I just what the chance to vote for Arnold for
President... he satisfies both parties and would be great in office... just
look at his popularity with the voters during the recall election... he
carried 51 out of 58 counties in Ca.... I believe that's proves a lot of
Democrats cast their vote for Arnold...

  9. Yup. Remember term limits? Nice trick to get dems out and repugs in,
then almost all the glorious crusaders just forgot about it. Typical.

Nope. No matter the party, the original intent of that part of the
Constitution remains valid. If you think political PACs are bad now,
imagine what they would be like if COUNTRIES started funding their own
    candidates for office.

  11. he did. on the grounds of a bunch of specious impossible promises none of
which have come to fruition. Still waiting to see him 'cut the flab'...
'terminate the budget deficit', etc. yeah, he did a nice job on
borrowing a bunch... next year, what?

hear about his Hydrogen Powered Hummer photoop the other day? Where he
was 'refueling' 'his' H powered H? Seems the gas station was a prop, the
special H powered hummer GM prototyped has a 50 mile range, and Arnie rode
home in his ol gas guzzler.

    he's a freekin ACTOR.

  12. If you think political PACs are bad now,
If countries have an invested interest in America I say that's good for our
security and the whole worlds security...

Only this isn't exactly a new idea. The same amendment was proposed to
allow Kissinger to run. Kissinger at least had some qualifications.
Now he's wanted on criminal warrants in four or five countries...

I don't see the problem since the US is one of the few countries in

now, never mind the trade deficit?

having a California governor seated in White House pushing more federal
dollars our way... I bet you would write and sing a song of joy then...

How 'bout we just shit can the entire Constitution? The Patriot Act put a

  20. The Constitution is not Bible...

"Some men look at constitutions with sanctimonious reverence, and
deem them like the ark of the covenant, too scared to be touched. They
ascribe to the men of the preceding age a wisdom more than human, and
supposed what they did to be beyond amendment ....I am certainly not a
advocate for frequent and untried changes in law and constitutions. I
think moderate imperfections had better be borne with; because, when
once known , we accommodate ourselves to them, and find practical means
of correcting their ill effects. But I know also that laws and
institutions must go hand in hand with progress of the human mind. As
that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are
made, new truths disclosed, and manners and opinions change with the
change of circumstances, institutions must advance also, and keep pace
    with times."
    Thomas Jefferson July 1816
