Allegations of which he was cleared before he was knighted.

Still, it's easy to take cheap pot shots after the man's dead, isn't it?

There's a gag about the Grauniad printing Clarke's Orbituary in there
somewhere but I can't get the words in the right order.

Not a huge fan of his work tbh and he should have been taken out and shot
for the last third of 2001...

  10. That is very sad news; he was a clever man and a very good writer.

But on the bright side, I was fielding him in a very lucrative dead
    pool.

    Every cloud...

    It's actually...

"Overhead, without any fuss, the stars were going out."

The last line from "The nine billion names of God" first published in 1953.

I stand corrected, I was working from memory.
    I loved that story.

How many cheap shots have you taken at a certain mother in Yorkshire?

Still, it's easy to take cheap shots at a woman who can't resist a big
    cock isn't it?

Yeah, whatever. WUN was obviously quoting from memory.
And we both obviously knew that, too.

    She's alive.

It may not smell that way, but she is.

What? Are you mad? The last third is what elevated the film from
    space opera to halucinatory genius.

Well a heretic, anyway. I can't help it. I thought it was a little
laboured when I was a teenager and am now of the opinion that it is a load
    of pseudo hippy wank.

I wasn't trying to kill the sentiment and WUN's memory was close enough for
me to think twice and go check the book on the shelf.

What surprised me was that I went straight to the right book and the right
story, which says much for the impression it left ,since I last read it
    20-odd years ago.
