Some joker filmed Saddam's execution on his phone, according to the
    BBC.

  2. TOG@toil, ,
Someone posted up a link to it in 'another place' I tend to lurk on the
net, a couple of days ago.

    I didn't bother looking at it though... can't say it's something I'd
    actively seek out to watch.
    Oh...

    Watched it last night.

It's crap footage, although you do see him drop.

  5. But there's no footage of him landing on the pile of soft cushions then
being laid gently on the floor for the 'after' shots, before being driven
away to Lord Lucan Island, or Elvis Heights.

It's a crap hanging too. Albert Pierrepoint would be ashamed of that.

The (still) pictures I saw of the hanging were appalling. The
executioneers looked like members of the Prov. IRA wearing 1980s East
German leather jackets, all ready to go and watch Status Quo when they'd
    finished.

Saddam looked like a dignified old gent.

Not one of the greatest PR coups.

Yep , for an official state-sanctioned it did look far too much like a lynch
mob had grabbed someone off the street

In various places now. I saw it on www.saddam.com, poor quality.
I think we'll have to wait for the DVD and sequel(s).

Yup, Saddam could have shouted "Cheerio!". That'd've[1] made it a bit more
    like the old days.

    [1] WTF?

    Go for it.

I just wish we'd had more testimony from him so he could have some
tirades about the duplicity of septic governments over the years who
were happy for him to be gassing Iranians and kurds.

  18. Good film, Pierrepoint. As is anything with Timotyy Spall in it, IMHO.

  19. Oh, x-posting to reeky is usually worthwhile, especially if you mention
Harleys, WW2 and Iraq in the same posting.

Even some of the clowns on reekie aren't stupid enough to not feel
even slightly ashamed at being involved in something like the hanging.

I was looking for something over in zx10r.net and they're loving every
moment of it. They're going to be getting a bit of attention before
    the evening's finished.
