For those of short memory, the dates are Friday 26 and Saturday 27 May, returning on Sunday 28th. That's the Bank Holiday weekend. Departing Dover on Friday round about 1130am. Returning from Calais in Sunday at about 3pm (although the return time isn't that crucial). So you'll have to take Friday as a day's holiday. Venue: Le Relais in Sedan, on the edge of the Ardennes. By popular consent, one of the nicest hotels we've stayed at (Madame is a biker herself!) and without a doubt the best scenery and roads for those Saturday ride-outs. This year included outings to Chimay (which should have resulted in at least a dozen SKOGA numbers being handed out) and, courtesy of Dodger, Four Countries In A Day. Or was it Five? The good the hotel is keeping the same prices as we paid this year. Thus, depending on the ferry costs (currently under negotiation), this means about £120 per head for solo riders, based on two people sharing a room, about £185 per head for couples two-up, about £150 for those who've asked me for a single room. For that you get your ferries, obviously, room, breakfast (damn good brekkies at this place, as well - not just a stale baguette and a croissant) and a five-course dinner both nights. Booze extra - I think we drank them out of draught beer last time. The local brews are excellent. There'll be the usual freebie places, based on current numbers. I grab one for DFVing, and we raffle the other - Statto won it last time, which as he'd helped DNC sort out his stricken Bandit, was amazingly well-deserved. I've got the details of all who replied to the earlier call for names. Demands for money will be going out after Christmas, and there'll be a deadline for payment of, probably, the end of February. No payment, no come: this involves an investment of several thousand quid and (especially after the EOSM) I'm not taking promises from anyone.
