The sneaky fuckers are indexing everything to google now. There's tons of posts on FB on how to stop it, but make sure you do, any **** can see your pics & posts etc.# Below is text on how to sort etc. If you don't know, as of today, Facebook will automatically index all your info on Google, which allows everyone to view it. To change this option, go to Settings --> Privacy Settings --> Search --> then UN-CLICK the box that says 'Allow indexing'. Facebook kept this one quiet. Nige

There have been misleading rumors recently about Facebook indexing all your information on Google. This is not true. Facebook created public search listings in 2007 to enable people to search for your name and see a link to your Facebook profile. The sky is falling, the sky is falling...
I thought this facebook thing was all about connecting with people. Surely getting your vital stats out and about will help with that.
There was a site governance update notice recently about changes to privacy settings. A three stage incremental process that all users have not yet been through apparently. IIRC the upgrade control invites you to check your privacy settings because the default is for things to be seen by EVERYONE and the upgrade seems to revert to that. You need to confirm that you want your *original* settings and whether you want Google searches to find your profile. All strangers will get via Google is what you have chosen to display on your profile to EVERYONE. Which anyone who CBA to create a Facebook account can get anyway, So PREVIEW your profile as seen by EVERYONE if concerned as to what the world and his/her SO can see, and change your settings accordingly. If you don't want anyone to even know you exist on Facebook don't join, or have what I would call a Two-Faced-Book account.
It *is your choice*, but when you first create an account you have to change the default privacy settings. The moral being, read the terms and conditions when you sign up and change what needs changing. The upgrade may have caught people out who just clicked 'OK' without checking exactly what it was up to. Now whether that was 'sneaky' is a moot point. Did you get the upgrade notice?

Works for me. I used to be on there but got pissed off with people sending me shit that I really didn't want and then people I didn't know wanting to be my friend. "**** off, I don't know you."
Oh bollocks... I thought that was a really neat place to store all my bank details, PIN numbers, etc! <grumble>
