Just quoted me £144.31 for the BMW and Ducati, with 8 year's protected
    NCB.

    I'm astounded.

I'm not - that's pretty dear for cover for two bikes that are permanently
    laid up.

    ahem.

I did more miles in June / July / August / Sept. on the Ducati than the
previous owner did in the last 3 years.

Was out on it last weekend, too.

Yes, that'll be because it spent most of the last three years purely going
back and forth to the blokes local bike mechanics? :p
By the time you'd dragged it out and put all your clobber on, wouldn't it
have just been quicker to walk down to get the papers?

The ones on the back of a recovery truck don't count though!

Just make sure they update the insurance database.

I've been shouting at Auntie Carole for a month now, and they still ain't
    sent the details off.
Makes taxing the bike online impossible.

I'm afraid AC has gone so downhill over the last three years or so.

I think they've sold it on - was Groupama on my last policy, gone back to
Equity Red Star this time. . . . . or summat. I'll find the paperwork out
    tomorrow-ish.

    Wotcha.
    Just looked at my policies.
I have two policies, both with CN.

The bikes on policy one are covered by Groupama - and they are on the MID

The bikes on policy two are covered by Equity Red Star - and they ain't on
    the MID

Time for another phone call to CN.
It looks like I did the right thing by insuring the latest project with
    another broker.

Last time I was searching for a Motor Trade policy ERS came up as the
cheapest, but my broker - a chap who I actually trust - informed me that
ERS are an ok company but there are major issues with them and the MID.
With the company I'm with now I can send a text with the vehicle reg and
"ON" and that is all I need to do to put a vehicle on the MID database.
ERS don't do that, and don't seem to like putting things on the MID more
    often than not.

    I don't know why, I haven't had a non-trade insurance policy for years,
but it was enough to make me spend an extra few quid and give ERS a swerve.

Not being on the MID causes far more trouble than its worth.
