In a fit of extravagance Damien cooked up over 400 snags for a morning
sausage sizzle which was attended by heaps of people in the historic
Eglinton Village Hall, just over the river from the city. I was happy to
stand and talk with Damien as he cleaned up the BBQ.
Bathurst Old Farts Car Club turned up with a bunch of old cages.
The SES turned up to control the Gum Boot Throwing Competition.
There were speaches by civic dignitaries and a historic display in the
    hall.
    Then everyone went home.

Both members of aus.moto rode the back road from Bathurst to Oberon and
drank the health of aus.moto with highly legal Gatorade (OK, it was
something else but I forget what). Then we went home the boring front
road. Then we turned up to cash in our free tickets (given out at
Damien's BBQ) to "The Honorable Wally Norman" at the local cinema. My
wife thought it was fully sick. We got home before dark.

Next year it would be appreciated if some others turned up to help eat
    Damien's left-over snags.

Australia Day isn't what it used to be, but then, neither am I.

PS. Damien's bike's got this carbonfibre can that, from behind, sounds
like a box of hornets, very nice.

Who wants to eat year-old mouldy snags?

Well, it was actually the Bathurst Lions Club running the BBQ, with the snags donated by a local butcher. I just cooked
    'em! :)
Powerade, perhaps? I can't remember either! That back way to Oberon is fantastic, and so many side roads still to
explore - strangely enough, most of them seem to take you back to Rockley in only 26km! It'll be even more fun once I'm
more familiar with the roads. :)

We should do a "Take You Back To Rockley" ride one day and check them all out.

The Inaugural Bathurst-Rockley-Rockley-Rockley-Rockley-Rockley Ride? If even half those roads are half as good as the
ones we rode the other day, it would be one hell of good ride! Any Sydney/Canberra people feel like making the journey
to Bathurst to boost the numbers a bit?
