Sasha has been busy talking to people and I get roped into organizing it....

Seeing the standard Sat night BBQ doesn't seem to be on this year , the
usual Sat ride to a decent pub is running out of decent pubs to ride to and
Sasha cant make it this year due to her back surgery, Sasha with the help of
a few of the rough nuts around here have come up with this Idea.

Saturday 16th Sept BBQ in Frankston at 1pm at her folks place. (her folks
    have happily offered....silly people :) )

The usual ride can go ahead with a trip through the local hills back to
    Frankston.
A spit BBQ will be put on and softdrinks will be provided at a cost of
    $5-$10 (just to cover costs)

People can ride down from Melb or come from PI

Interstaters, I have a heaps of room here at Frankston if you need to crash
the days before or after, there is a spare Queen bed, a double futon and a
single, heaps of floor or tent space. I will be riding down for the Sun
    only.

Please state your interest here and also email me so I can send you the
    details closer to the date

    Marty,
as much as I'd like to be convivial with youse blokes (and blokettes) once
    I hit the island I'm a fixture!
(I don't even go on the Saturday brewery-rides!)
I hope I get to catch up anyway.

Is there no Ausmoto house this year where the mob will be staying? Or are most staying at the caravan park?

after the last BBQ at the house it was well known on IRC that there
probably wasnt going to be another "all in" BBQ at the house this year
and I comfirmed that with GS last week on the phone.

thats why we have stepped in, main reason thou is so Sash can at least
be a part of something because of her lack of mobility.

if there is going to be a BBQ at PI, please let me know, I dont want to
    put in any wasted effort.

Anyone know a good pub in Coffs Harbour to watch the GP. We'll be on
holidays, well and truly away and away.

    thats upto Geoff and Jodie...
the BBQ I was putting forward was not to replace the Sat night "offical"
BBQ, the BBQ I put foward inst even on Sat night, its on Saturday day at
1pm, its more of a replacmant to the ride desination instead of the Grand
Ridge Brewey that has got over priced and under serviced.
she says thanks but it was major surgrey she had and she is still in
Hospital for another few weeks and will not be able to travel in a car for
several months, this is the reason we want a get together at the place she
will call home for the next few months.

The BBQ is still on, at 1pm and if the PI "Offical" BBQ is on Sat night
there will be plenty of time to do both as I will and still show Sash you
    care :)

Speaking of which... time to start thinking about the Thursday night in
Melbourne. Sophia's in Camberwell was a bit hard to find for the
interstaters, but you only paid for what you ate and usually struggled
to finish it. The Village Green Hotel is easy to find but the $20pp is
a bit steep especially if you're not that hungry. There's another
Sophia's just a couple of km further along Ferntree Gully Rd from The
Village Green. Not hard to locate. Whaddyasreckon?

I won't go in the place ever since they refused me and a couple of hairy
mates service on a cold night a few years back. Pity, since I'd been
eating there since I was a wee lad.

Geronimos (?) across the road were more than happy to have our business.

I suppose it's a while since sophias have poisoned anyone. I still
don't believe that a fillet stake can hang over both sides of a dinner
    plate......

Actually.. on second thoughts... went to Lazy Moe's new restaurant in
Maribyrnong tonight... reasonable prices.. massive servings... and the
food was a couple of notches above Sophia's IMHO. They have another
restaurant in Forest Hill, in Canterbury road just around the corner
from Springvale Rd... easy enough for everyone to find.
