Is that the colour of your new beast? (Sorry, I haven't been following
    threads much lately.)

nah, my new beast is a stylish and elegant <grin> metallic grey (grey is the
new black, don'cha know?) - as much at home at a formal occasion as lounging
    around the BBQ, heh heh.

Actually I'm aware of several regulars from this group who are regulars
on one or other web forum. In fact a couple are moderators...

Well did you lurk for a while before posting or did you just post a
question expecting a nice response straight away?
Clem judged you well by your sookiness in this post.

    stats for in here
    http://groups.google.com/group/aus.motorcycles/about?hl=en
the intermaweb has developed, people can get more bandwidth into their
homes these days than most ISPs had for their whole backbone 10 years
ago.. The Usenet is a dying art form. its very simple, designed to not
suck bandwidth and adds very little "value added" features, do you
really expect people that can get fully graphical forums with pretty
pictures that load in seconds to use a old text base news group
especially one that is closed shop of cynical old bastards??

I hang around here for a few reasons ( I run a motorcycle web forum
    and quite active in another)

I can say ****, POO, BOTTOM and all Ducati riders a raging poofters
without some self appointed Nazi deleting my post
and I kinda like a few people in here and enjoy the read..

but besides that, usenet has very, very little to offer me and I do
not read any other newsgroup, I even read the NG via google groups web
    interface.

**** poo bottom I avoid forums because I absolutely hate animated smileys
and the other enhanced-wank that they're full of!
I just wanna' chat with other adults [1]; not have colouring-in
    competitions.

Make sure you don't drop it Betty - it'll blend into the road in a
chameleon-like fashion and you'll never find it again!
