  1. Have you nearly hit one of those loose roadside sheep near Murrumbateman?

  3. Interesting stats. I notice Nev has 11700 posts and is highest poster
overall. I also post to a web-based music forum and have managed to
rack up more posts than that in less than 4 years. Probably explains
why you don't see much of me in here lately :)
Not currently having a motorbike doesn't help either.
Mind you the other appeal of the music forum is that while it is a
national four based in Melbourne, it was originally set up in Hobart
and most of the gigs and people there I catch up with regularly in
    person.

  4. The music forum I referred to in my other post has just revamped and
removed the ability to post smileys and limited picture size to 480
    width max.

    Much betterer.

Yeah, I misspelled fsck as **** once on a forum and someone got upset.
Apparently fsck was OK but it was very rude to write ****.

At least here you can call a spade a spade. Although someone will argue that
    it is a shovel.

Up your nose Gerry, get back up on your hill.
That's possible, this group (more than others I'm in) strongly resists new
blood. (Other than baying for it).
You want to bore her to death, and then report it here so we can be bored to
    death as well?

On the contrary - very little time here is spent on the point.
Most of the posts I`ve found are social dribble and inconsequential to all
but an ever decreasing bunch of regular posters.Email would suffice for
quite a lot of the personal crap that is posted here.

Every now and then an interesting snippet of information will emerge and I
guess thats why I still look in occassionally. I`ve owned over 70 bikes and
have been riding for nearly 40 years but I feel I have very little in common
with the core of this group.

    Just my 2c worth

George, just because the sheep don't call you in the morning is no need
to question their morals by calling them 'loose'.

I think he's talking more about the Hazing Ritual that all newcomers
    seem to be subjected to.

I know, I was just wondering. I think it went for about 3 years last
    time, didn't it? :)

  14. I find this thread drift occurs just as much on the music forum I post
to as well, so I don't think usenet is any different in that way.

Anyone who can't handle thread drift should just stay away from internet
forums period, irrespective of whether they be usenet or web-based or
whatever. You could sooner get Dubya to say something intelligent than
keep even a single thread 100% on topic. It's just how it is. Either get
used to it, or go somewhere else! :)

Of the couple of motorcycle forums I look at regularly, I'd say that 90%
of the threads are off-topic.. that is... they start off topic. At
least here, most of the threads start on [some sort of motorcycle
related] topic and then drift off.
Don't drink beer eh? Don't feel bad. BT drinks poofter drinks!

  20. Good point. I changed mine about 5 years ago so that would have
dropped all my early posts off.
