The Red Lion is now officially off my 'pubs to visit' list. Eating
outside has always been a challenge there due to the wasps, but it's
got so bad now you can't even risk a quick beer without dressing like a
bee keeper.

 

They're getting worse, aren't they? We've spent much of the past week
eating outside, and have seen one almost every day.

 

One? We had 5 or 6 attacking our drinks within seconds!

I blame the eco nutters who say you should leave nests alone as the
wasps will bugger off in the winter anyway. **** that. Passing up the
chance to nuke a few hundred of the evil little cunts should be a
criminal offence.

I've never been driven away by other bugs from places that aren't
infested with wasps.

Water conservation's really not very high on my list of things to worry
about at the moment. Flooding otoh...

 

I vaguely recall the saying having Aussie origins, and you don't get
much more common than that.
