Avoiding toll on bridge/tunnel

    Hey bike people.

    Someone told me if you ride in the very outside of the lane, either the far
    left, far right or on the lane divider, the camera cant pick up your plate.
    Has anyone experienced this?

    Yeah, I've had a fiddle with it in the bus lane booth on the Cahill
    Expressway (I'm paying a flat rate anyway, so it's no skin off anyone's
    nose if my passage is recorded or not) and I haven't managed to find
    a route through that particular toll gate that doesn't cause the
    camera's flash to go off. The inductive loops go right to the edges
    of the lane, close enough to the kerb that they'll detect a bike
    trying to sneak by on the edges.

    As to the bit about "the camera cant pick up your plate", what JL
    said: Bollocks.

    I reckons that if I were to hang a dead politician or bureaucrat over
    the back then the camera cannot pickup my numberplate :)

    Absolutely true. THe cameras in the bridge/tunnel have never picked up
    my plate.
