AVON tyres. Winter riders rate them over 020's?

Got about a thousand miles left on my 020's. The Avon AV45/AV46
pairing seems to be much cheaper than Bridgestones and I'v read in
here somewhere that they are OK. But doesn't cheaper mean 'not so
    good'?

Also as it's now the chilly season how do they rate when the ground
and tyres are cold, it's wet and you're applying 100 odd hp to 18
    stone of homo sapien?

Anyone use them regularly in winter and wet? Thanks for your
    thoughts.

I've been using them for ages and they've been fantastic ... .dunno
about "cheap" though ... just ordered a rear one today and it was 99
    quid

Simes is the man to ask about prolonged wet weather peformance. He
    really rates them.

I've done about 3,000 miles on them since the ZZR was treated to a pair.
Overall I've been very impressed with them in all situations, not least
of all when I paid for them.

No. I had them on a Bandit 6 and got a lot more miles out of them than
the 020s. I did find they took a little longer to warm up but overall I
found them better than the Bridgestones.
I found they lasted longer, but then I'm not quite as heavy, being a
    svelte 12 stoner.
I found them good in the wet, that's all I can tell you.

  5. I'm well in to the 2nd set of Azaro3 on the Pan.
Got about 8500 miles out of them.
Used in all weathers at all speeds and hauling around more than your
    lightweight 18 stone!
If they were no good, I wouldn't be into the 2nd set.

BTW they don't work properly on Black Pans. Apparently Black Pans need
    Bridgestones.

They certainly do - it helps with re-entry after teleporting.

Your bike will thank you for buying 020s, mine does
