Could someone tell me what happens when it starts to get a bit cooler
(freezing) and on the way home on an evening my B6 wants to cut out,
even though it's been going a good 10 mins..

I seem to recollect something along the lines of freezing carbs...

What does this mean in practice?
Is there any way to avoid it happening?

    Aye yours

Not that this helps, but I have no problems with my 2000 B6...

I could be wrong but it goes something like this. When the air is cold and
damp as it gets forced in to the carbs small ice crystals form and this
buggers up the air fuel mix causing rough running and cutting out. Its not
too bad on cold dry days just when its cold and damp.

It happened on que each morning at 1 1/2 miles in to my journey. When I
    had my Bandit 1200K1.
Buy a bike thats fuel injected, or buy some silkolene Pro fst (?) to mix
    with the peterol.

    SWK will be here soon.
