Interesting week for me.. There's been a few post's lately with some folks bad mouthing and romping on the dealers .. I know that some are arrogant a/h's and turn people off as soon as they come in the door.. I've been doing a little maintainance on the ol' green Thang and my dealer didn't have a front tire for it, since I am running Pirelli's and he doesn't stock them.. He ordered the tire for me and meantime I noticed he had the chrome sissy bar rack that I have been looking for.. There was a rear sprocket for my bike involved also.. They called me and said the parts were there so I just rounded out tuesday and rode over to let them do the work.. They got my bike in the shop in a reasonable amount of time and about two hours later, it was ready.. The parts guy priced out my invoice and being busy visiting with some of the "bud's", I wrote the check.. I thought about it all the way back home and when I got there I double checked the invoice.. Sheesh.. I had just made the best deal of the year.. The invoice was for .50.. I called my friend who owns the dealership and explained they had made a mistake and he told me to just take care of it next time I was in the store.. I returned to the store the following day and met with the owner.. He thanked me for pointing out the mistake and being honest enough to make it right.. The price on the tire was .50 with my discount and the price for the chrome was just under a hundred.. The rear sprocket was 22.50 . Total 6.00..He told me to cut the check for the difference for .00.. Tax title and license, with two hours labor involved was 2.50.. Now .. someone who likes the mail order suppliers, beat that deal.. It isn't typical, but with the discount I normally get, the typical deal is competitive.. Besides.. I always manage a little "friendly fellowship" and look at all the new stuff, when I go to the dealer.. Your friend in Irving Bill Walker
