Bad Guzzi motors?

  1. It seems like the post-aprilia takeover hasn't been all roses, with some
problems with transmissions and low oilpressure leading to lunched cams.

This from Greg Field, who wrote a book on the marque and has a fair bit
    of factory cred...

Beggio recently (November) fired nearly the entire group of
powerplant engineers who were responsible for this and other
recent engine and tranny gaffes. I was told he gathered them all
in one room and told them, "Congratulations gentlemen, int 18
months you have accomplished what I never though possible: You
have ruined the excellent reputation of the Guzzi engine. You're
    all fired."

A man who doesn't muck about!

here's hoping he can rebuild the reputation. Roll on the Breva 1100!
Not that I'll buy one, I'm way too cheap, but it would probably be the
    Guzzi I'd buy.

was in waterford this morning outside a burger joint opposite the pub ,
guzzi parked while its owner ate , partial glass BRIGHT YELLOW and some
very tricky pipes ending up under the seat sort ala rz or some of the
bmw .... any idea what it was > pretty :_)
sounded awesome. ( waterford is a very southern suburb 30k out from
    Brisbane)

He needs to fix the reliability thing so there will still be some about
