  2. Oh, those are broadly in my "what to do". "Where to do it" seems the
    problem.
Yes. I was going to do that when I was in Beijing. Never got round
    to it.
Go at a time of low humidity then!
I'd like live jazz music to be involved (so that's London or New York,
then, unless I go t SFJazz again). But I'd like hot weather and
relaxing on the beach (so that's Asia, probably). It would be nice if
a great city featured (Melbourne, maybe, but I love Madrid and Milan).
I'm tempted to go to South America - Costa Rica, or Panama.

Tough to figure out a solution involving as many of those as possible.
Tougher still given that I don't know exactly when I'll be able to
    take leave.

  3. I cancelled it because I didn't know when I would be home. The only
point of having it would be the cachet of having one of the first. I
considered having it left in the crate, to be worth something as a
curio in future years - but in reality it would take 30 years to be
worth twice what it's worth now, so as an investment I may as well
    bang out another ISA.

Not a great location for me.
The 19th is good for me.

I don't think there's ever been a clique drink at the Paternoster.

It's looking increasingly likely that I'll have to do some major saving up
to do that thing we were talking about, so the later the better for me. The
current dollar rate is helping matters, though.

You've been at LT for ages though - surely nothing can be unbelievable any
    more?

  8. yeah, permie rates can really suck, can't they!
TBH, I almost never know what it is, now that my TV at home doesn't
work. The only channel I ever watched was BBC World, which has the
business shit scrolling across the screen all the time.

Fine by me. Unless anyone fancies the Dickens Inn at St Katharines dock.

As a final destination, probably not, but it's been used as a meeting
    point.

  11. Well we've moved on now. Our contractor typically takes us to another
world located in another universe when it comes to them trying to
commercially justify their positions. Just to make the point I once
sketched a planet, space ship and some twinkling stars on a flip chart
and kept it covered over. During the regular contract meeting the moment
presented itself as they set about spinning some load of old nonsense. I
therefore dutifully presented my sketch of our impending trip to outer
space. Raised a laugh but also made the point.

I've also done this routine with a box of sweets but that's a story for
    another day.

The other side of unbelieveable is how stupid some people can be. I've
had a week of this and cannot believe how such stupidity is tolerated.
If I'd done even 10% of the crap I've encountered this week I'd have
    been sacked.

So in short - no I have not yet encountered everything that is
    unbelieveable.

Watching the "Bottom" getting his arse waxed then bleached a nice
consistent pink colour on some late Ch5 plastic surgery fest last night,
as I flicked through the channels while waiting for squirming NL MP's to
    emerge, was *almost* unbelievable
