I fit the can last night & theres a screw to remove on the underside. I
have undone it, but the thing is solid. Am I missing something?

Looks like they can be a very tight fit according to the JFGI link Cane
posted earlier. Mole grips or a kind of home made slide-hammer arrangement.

    Yes - choose from:

    1. Any semblance of social etiquette.
    2. An angle grinder.

    Don't forget you'll need a step-ladder, climbing harness, a small
mallet and a pair of comfortable walking shoes. Kendal Mint Cake
    is, of course, optional.

A very small amount of bhp, but there's still the cat on there. You can
get a cat removal pipe, but it's a lot of money.

    It just sounds nice now.

    That's OK then.
Couldn't you get some scrap value for it?
One man's sound is another man's noise. I hadn't got you down as a "loud
    pipes save lives" type.

I'm not really, but I do like a fruity noise & to be honest but I can
see the benefit of being heard.

Maybe I'm just an anti social **** ;)

I have no objection to a decent note, particularly if it enhances power
or torque. The problem is the amount of extra noise is sometimes
    dispraportionate to the benefit.

This is a lovely sound, not like a dirt bike or owt silly.
Well, the fact you put no comment speaks more than just saying nothing
    ;)
