Techie sales support. Not hard for someone from my background but well
paid (for non London values of well paid), very local and from what I
have found out today very nice to their staff in the ways that matter. I
get a surprisingly generous staff discount too.

I've never found a taxi driver who wouldn't hand over a fistful of
    receipts, often without prompting.

  14. I dunno, I can only hope although she seems to not be there mostly. But
she does wear very short frocks that match her latin skin tones, tan I
think they call it. It is downright odd looking at a bird with clothes
on who is naked coloured from head to toe. Confusing in some ways and
not fair on the elderly with bits of their memory still intact.

Teach a man to fish and he and his pikey mates will have the

    Dunno about the whores.

Some interesting architecture if you're in to all that. It's a little
spread out, but easily doable on foot.

Some brilliant driving experiences, like many roundabouts that have 9
lanes on them, and *everyone* is going for the same 2 lane exit.

Bit touristy, but try a paella at Casa Roberto on Calle (street) del
Maestro Gozalbo. Doesn't open until 9.30pm or something, but an amazing
dish and well filling. I opted for the meat option which had snails in
    it.

The Science Museum area (L'Hemesferic) is brilliant, set in the Royal
Gardens (Jardines del Real), which is like a river of green space running
through the city. The museum, cinema, acquarium etc is situated near to
the restaurant actually, so you can make a full day of it if you're not
staying nearby. The IMAX cinema is good also, with multi-ligual sound
options on your personal headsets. Ah, here you go - http://www.spanish-
    living.com/regional/Valencia_city-of-arts-and-science.php

The beach is OK, if you like that kind of thing.

If you have a car, use the hotel parking, or expect to find it 3 cars deep
in the morning. And nearly the whole inner city is a one way system.

Just outside of town, there are a few "mountains" if you wanna go walking
or cycling. Orange trees grow literally by the side of the road, which
can be fun to get lost in.

That's all I can think of for now.

Good description. I'd add that there are several religious/civil gothic
buildings in old town, a nice "art nouveau" central market for shopping good
food as souvenirs, the America's Cup harbour.

Mind: They invented "paella". They have their very own standard "paella".
They love and are proud of their "paella". Pretending that other rices you
tasted in Spain are "paella" can be dangerous.

    Useful Valencian slang:
    - "Che collons!" (mate, bollocks!) ("ch" as in "much", "ll" similar to "y")
    generic admiration expression.
    - "Salut i força al canut" (health and strong dick) hello all, mates.
    - "Ves-te'n a fer la ma" (go away to make hand) go wanking.
    - "Visca Catalunya" (hail Catalonia) I feel suicidal today (depending on
your politic audience, could be opposite).
