One of my guys bid on this as a cheap bike to commute on (yes I am aware of 'cheap' in relation to bikes' http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300128265480#ebayphotohosting He's now worried that he's bought a duffer. Any comments? Well the seller gave him every opportunity to look, check and ride before he committed to buying, so you're guy is either a complete numptie and didn't do any of the above and discovered a shit load of problems at home, or he bought a good bike at good money. -- Beav VN 750 Zed 1000 OMF# 19
Nah, he's not got it yet. Looks OK to me, though. He actually got outbid and the 'winning' bidder withdrew.... -- Catman MIB#14 SKoGA#6 TEAR#4 BOTAFOF#38 Apostle#21 COSOC#3 Tyger, Tyger Burning Bright (Remove rust to reply) Alfa 116 Giulietta 3.0l (Really) Sprint 1.7 75 TS 156 TS S2 166 V6 2.5 Suzuki Bandit 600 Triumph Sprint ST 1050: It's blue, see. www.cuore-sportivo.co.uk

Do they have schools in Essex? A couple of typo's is okay, but that seller is pretty damn illiterate.
Yes but since the gummint restructuring they don't do teaching like they used to. Besides how much education do you need to buy an eighth of puff and a couple of E's?
That should sound alarm bells, especially as it's a "private listing" so bidders ids aren't shown. It's not uncommon to have a mate bidding-up an item and then drop out after the auction ends. Your "second chance offer" is then a lot more than you would have had to pay without matey chipping-in. I've had that on an item I was bidding on, not private listing, and you could see from the eBay account history's that these guys had played the same trick before, sometimes under a previous account name.
What he said. And the winning bid, that was withdrawn, was only £2050, and he withdrew because he "entered wrong amount". Like ****. There's some shilling been going on there. Not that it matters, if he bike is as good as it's said to be, but I'd run an HPI check just to be sure. The bloke flogging it is trading on the side, but that doesn't really matter if it's kosher. An HPI check is a must.
I've got one of those and the bike is as sound as a pound, so probably not. -- Beav VN 750 Zed 1000 OMF# 19
