I've googled for older posts and found nothing. Have pity, I may have
missed obvious stuff, due to the tricks being played on my brain at
the mo... I alopogise in advance.

My battery is a bit shagged and I'm a bit lax about checking it. All
my bikes in the past 10 years have had sealed batteries, which has
    made me even more negligent.

Sod it, I want a sealed replacement.

Does anyone have any links or addresses/phone numbers of suppliers?

Usual requirements for suppliers: good price and service.

I've tried Busters, et al, but found nothing other than conventional
    types.

If you need to know it is a YB14L-A2.

    TIA

p.s. don't bother with the abuse - I feel shitty as it is. ;-P

    Indeed they did.
Drop Darren Faulkner a line at; and ask his
    advice.
I recently bought a battery from them same YB14L-A2 but I got the Nagoya wet
    one.
I'm sure if you ask they will be able to get a sealed or gel equivalent, but
it will of course come at a higher price.

Very helpful company, and I have no connection with them other than being a
_very_ satisfied customer. Their service was second to none.

    Nearly, but not quite.

They do them in the relevant capacity, but not the same size.
    Tight fit in the Tig.
    Bugger!

I'll speak to one of the local suppliers and see if they can help find
    an equivalent.

    Thanks!

    This is true..... but.....

There is a 4 figure code to add on the end to get the actual product.

The 9 digit number shown on the chart is right, but it only appears in
the 13 digit number in the wet range, unfortunately.

    Sealed:

    Wet:

I'll see what info I can get from a supplier - they may be able to
spot an equivalent to fit the space..

    I'll drop him a line.
The first one on the page looks like a possibility.

Despite the blurb about electrolyte, the ones on that page are sealed.
    It does, TYVM!

Fr Jack emerged from their own little world to say

    http://www.knightbatteries.com/home.cfm

The Tiger is not listed on their website but the chap responded to my email
    query the same day.

I ordered one of the flash Hawker Odyssey [1] for the GS, delivered next
    day.

[1] fucking expensive at 90 quid but has more starting oomph than the BMW
gel battery (82 quid) so should be less likely to cause the ABS
initialisation fault. A pattern wet battery is 48 quid delivered[2] or 60
quid from a local shop "ready to fit".

[2] then you have to fill it with acid
